Some of the CYG Gymnasts from Isle of Man were recently treated to afternoon tea with Kriss Akabusi MBE.

Kriss won three medals at the Summer Olympics and three World Championship medals, amongst others.

Akabusi has presented the television shows Record Breakers and The Big Breakfast, and has regularly appeared as a panellist on many quiz shows such as A Question of Sport, They Think It’s All Over and Through the Keyhole where his trademark infectious laugh brings smiles to many.

Kriss began his motivational speaking career over 10 years ago and is now one of Britain’s most recognised and respected motivational speakers, presenting his FIT4Business” speech to Blue Chip and FTSE 100 companies.

IOMGA LEVEL 1 COACHES COURSE

This weekend was a busy one for the Level 1 Coaches Course candidates and all the demonstration gymnasts.

The course, held both days at Manx Gymnastics, had a good number of new coaches in attendance. George, a facilitator from England supervised the course with Gennady, Graham and Jayne as facilitators.

Good Luck to all participants who will further prepare for their formal assessment to be held later in the year. Thank you to all the children who assisted as demonstrators over the weekend.
